On one of the houses I used their project management services. It was quite an extensive job with several rooms being gutted. We re-gibed the walls, upgraded the kitchen and bathroom, put new carpet throughout, a paint job, internal and external repairs and new spouting.

They did such a good job that people passing the property inquired if it would be up for rent. I had tenants waiting to move in the day the renovation was finished and the property manager got top dollar because of the quality of the property. Living in Japan it is very difficult for me to find properties in New Zealand. I found Don and Liz on the net (through the blog by Steve McKnight) and immediately began communicating via email. Friends urged caution about this kind of relationship, but I knew from the beginning that Don and Liz were the right people to work with.

With the first property they sourced for me, they sent over 30 detailed photos and a long description about the property. This amazed me that they would go to so much effort after just a few short emails. Unfortunately this property didn't work out, but the next one did. They knew exactly what I was looking for, and also gave me a lot of advice about Invercargill and property investing in general. I am relatively new to property investing and Don and Liz have been very good mentors for me.

When we got to the final stages of the process for this property I got on a plane and flew to freezing Invercargill (-3 degrees at 8am). They met me at the airport, showed me around town, taught me about the area and showed me some other impressive and not so impressive properties to give me a good idea of what to look for.

I ended up buying 2 properties on this 2 day trip to New Zealand and Don and Liz helped me with a lot of the paper work and introduction to all the necessary people to get properties checked, accounting, valuers etc. An expensive 2 day "holiday" but it has already paid off. The personal service provided, their knowledge of the area and properties in New Zealand was very impressive and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for property in New Zealand.
